How to get to Select while the A382 is Upgraded

The A382 is the main road to Select Motorhomes from Newton Abbot. During the major roadworks Whitehills Road and Exeter Road are closed. The A382 will be closed from Thursday 25th September for 11 months.

Here are two alternative routes to help you find your way to us during this time:

Primary diversion via A383 (Ashburton Road) and Bickington

1. Start from Newton Abbot Town Centre: Asda, turn onto Highweek Street, which leads directly onto the A383 (Ashburton Road) out of Newton Abbot.
2. Follow the A383 out of town: Continue on the A383 until you reach the junction signposted to Exeter (A38), where you turn right into Bickington.
3. Through Bickington: Stay on the main road through the village, passing The Welcome Stranger pub on your right.
4. Turn right onto Staplehill Road
5. Turn left onto The Patchway and into Trago: Take the next left from Staplehill Road onto The Patchway and follow signs to Trago, straight ahead.
6. Turn left at the end of the Patchway
7. Arrive at Select Motorhomes: Go straight ahead at the first roundabout and take the first exit on the second. Continue along that road and Select Motorhomes will be signposted on the right.

Secondary diversion via A380 and Clay Pits Way

1. Start on the A380 towards Exeter: Begin your journey heading northeast on the A380 from Newton Abbot towards Exeter.
2. Exit the A380 at Kingsteignton Junction: Take the exit signposted Kingsteignton and Chudleigh, turn left and follow signs to Chudleigh (B3193). Pass The Ten Tors Inn on your left, and at the roundabout, take the third exit (Chudleigh). Shortly after, you’ll come to another roundabout, take the exit signposted Chudleigh.
3. Clay Pits Way (B3193) to Clay Lane: Continue along Clay Pits Way, passing Gilpin Scrap Metals after the clay pits on your left. Take the first left, signposted Heathfield and Bovey Tracey. It’s a tight turn into a junction, so approach with care.
4. Clay Lane to A38 (Plymouth): Follow Clay Lane until you reach a narrow bridge over the River Teign. Continue straight on until you see a sign showing directions, Bovey Tracey (straight on) and Plymouth via A38 (left). Take the first left here, bringing you onto the A38.
5. A38 (Plymouth) to A382 and Trago: After joining the A38, take the second junction, signposted as Stover, Ilsington, Bickington and Heathfield. This is the Drumbridges roundabout. Take the first exit, signposted Newton Abbot (A382), and make your way to Trago. Select Motorhomes will be on your left as you drive in.
